“The Darkest Of Nights”

Here’s my newest song. Recorded on a Sunday evening, right after a storytelling session, where I played three songs (including this one).

If I knew words that I could say to make you feel loved and safe – I would
whisper all night long, then melt them down and pour them into a song
And sing it on repeat
endlessly

Love, won’t you show me,
show me your light that shines – even in the Darkest of Nights

Love, please hold me in your arms
and keep me warm and sheltered from the storm

If I listen carefully I can hear your love song in the rustle of the leaves
And feel you touch my face and the warmth of your sun-rays-embrace
And your wind sings on repeat
endlessly

Love, I’m here to show you,
show you the light, that shines – even in the Darkest of Nights

Love, Let me hold you in my arms
and keep you warm and sheltered from the storm

We’ve got nowhere to go, still we’re planning our escape
While time is standing still, we rush for fear of running too late
Your garden’s too beautiful, so we hide outside the gate
We’re to scared to come on in for fear of loosing all we’ve been
Without knowing what is – we might win…

Now your raindrops drum the beat
While your sunrays embrace me
And your wind sings on repeat
endlessly:

“Somewhere beyond the clouds, somewhere beyond the rain … bow there’s”

Love, here to show you
show you your light that shines even through the cloud-filled skies

Love, let me hold you in my arms
and keep you warm and sheltered from the storm
